Could head lice be effecting my child’s sleep?

Children can often be very slow in recognising they have head lice. Its not until someone notices the constant scratching and investigates a little further that the head lice situation is realised! Up until this point, the child can be scratching subconsciously for weeks without anyone noticing. This scratching doesn’t finish in their sleep – often children are seen by their parents scratching whilst asleep. Although this might not appear to be a problem, its actually interfering with their sleep. So if your child has been a little ratty and out of sorts while you’re trying to get on top of the head lice situation, don’t be too hard on them, they’re probably losing sleep over it too, they just don’t realise it!
